Philanthropy

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.

We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.

Kappa Mu's Philanthropy

At Kappa Mu, philanthropy is at the heart of everything we do. As proud supporters of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, our chapter is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families in need. We specifically partner with the Augusta hospital location, ensuring that our efforts directly impact those in our region. Our largest and most anticipated philanthropic event is our annual Philanthropy Week competition, Sir Fidel. Through this spirited week of giving, unity, and fun, we have raised over $28,000 annually—a testament to the dedication of our sisters, the Greek community, alumni, and the Statesboro community. Together, we are part of something bigger than ourselves, working to create miracles for children in need.Beyond Sir Fidel, Kappa Mu actively partners with GSU Miracle to host Dance Marathon, a high-energy event that brings our campus together in support of pediatric healthcare. We are also proud to be a top contributor to the M3 Foundation, furthering our commitment to philanthropy and service. At Kappa Mu, giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are.
